Plus sa change, plus ca NaNoWriMo...

I have a problem: I am a beggar for punishment.

All my blog friends can attest to the fact that, since landing a full time job, I have been a blogging Dead Zone. It is not, I hasten to add, because I don't love my blogosphere pals. Indeed, I have been neglecting everything: My writing, Twitter, exercise, my RL buddies... heck, even my hairdresser has forgotten what I look like.

You can hardly blame her for not recognising me
So you might say there aren't enough hours in the day. (Or you might say that being a lawyer sucks every ounce of creativity out of one's body... but who am I to abuse the job which is keeping the kittehs in their fancy cat food?)

AND YET.... And yet, my darling blogosphere friends, I am once more eyeing up NaNoWriMo. If you don't know what NaNoWriMo is, please check out my informative post "Mummy, why is that lady muttering to herself?" here. If you already know what NaNoWriMo is, you will be shaking your head sadly and preparing to send a sympathy card to my Handsome Husband, or, as he will soon be known, the Writer's Widower.

I haven't signed up for it yet - indicating, I like to think, some scrap of common sense still remains in my dessicated brain. But I'm seriously thinking about it...

Writers, and thinking-about-becoming-writers, are you tempted to do it this year? What other commitments are you juggling? Please fill me in, and make me feel a little less mad about committing to this thing...

NaNoWriMo, I'm so excited about it this year!! My plan is still to write two novels. Or at least get 50k out on each. Last year I think I was at 50k by day 9, so I know I can do it! Problem is, one of my novel ideas is way more exciting to me than the other. hehe

You had 50k by day NINE? You are amazin', lady!
I think you should concentrate on the novel you love the most, and leave the less exciting one for now - Novelists, unlike parents, are allowed to play favourites :)

Yeah, well I'm sure I would enjoy the first novel too - but I'm REALLY excited about the second. I guess we'll see!

I tagged you, Charlotte! I know you tagged me too, Twitter-style, and I'm going to address that shortly. :) Had to get this one out of the way first!
